Miguel Clark Mallet (also known as Michael Robinson) writes essays and fiction. After beginning his career in journalism, he earned an MFA in fiction and a doctorate in rhetoric and composition. He spent nearly 20 years as a college writing teacher and writing program administrator. Mallet writes about race, mental health and spirituality, and writing processes and practice. His work has appeared most recently in The On Being Project and Potent magazine. Currently writing a speculative fiction novel and a long multi-genre work, he writes, runs, and lives in the Twin Cities in Minnesota.

Miguel Clark Mallet (also known as Michael Robinson) writes essays and fiction. Born in Germany, he grew up as an Army brat on bases in the U.S. and in Central America. Early on, Mallet developed a visceral interest in language. He initially studied journalism then earned a BA in English, an MFA in fiction, and a doctorate in rhetoric and composition. Mallet spent nearly 20 years as a college writing teacher and writing program administrator.

His writing centers on the intersection of the racial, the spiritual, and the emotional, and on writing — its ambiguity and fluidity — as a means to explore that intersection. He writes to reflect, disrupt, and transform. Mallet’s work has appeared most recently in The On Being Project and Potent magazine. Currently writing a speculative fiction novel and a long multi-genre work, he writes, runs, and lives in the Twin Cities in Minnesota.
